 - I'd like to do a magazine on football lifestyle with a picture of a footballer on the front cover similar to this one. Rather than have a picture of a player in a shirt i will have them in a football kit on the front while in some sort of celebratory motion.

- I also may have someone in normal clothes playing football with their friends or family so that inside of the magazine i can add the social side of football rather than just what is going on in the league or in current world football.

- I am going to include pictures of the school football team as well with pictures that i have taken of them training and in game.

- This magazine often uses this cover design with the picture in the middle of the page with writing on the outside of the picture on the border of the page.

- This is quite a simple layout and cover idea but is effective in achieving the look and style that the magazine is trying to capture.

General research

- I like the design of these magazine covers with the celebrities being superimposed over the name of the magazine

- The first cover when there are two halves of a mans face looking as though they are one is a nice design that I think looks good and may corporate in my magazine cover.

- The content of the magazine I would like to do will be about music which this second cover includes. Though I don't want to have him specifically or even anyone of a similar genre but I'd like to use the design and the same type of shot as this cover.

Task 3: Audience research

 Audience research

As a mass market audience 16-25 year olds will want to follow trends that are current and will be engaged with things that interest or catch the attention of them, but also those around them as they are very influenced by what the media portrays and what other 'cool' people there age are interested in. In this instance, i must include things that will engage this audience emotionally as well as keep them interested in what is being said. In order to know what kind of content to include i must first understand what this age group read and watch and what it is that touches them emotionally. There is a lot of media out there that simply goes over their heads therefore i will research these pieces of media so i know what not to do but also read the popular bits of media and the parts that engage them.

Audience profile

The audiences' interests and social presence

The 16-25 year old audience keep up with current affairs both global and cultural through social media platforms as well as sometimes engaging with news apps. They actively participate online with pop culture and anything that they want to watch or read. They are able to consume mass amounts of information digitally and keep up with the world through this so are needed to be visually stimulated if they are to stay on a certain page or website. Due to the effects of COVID-19, the rise in the online presence of this demographic has been rapid in recent years. This age group are very interested in social and global issues such as the environment and similar issues but are the biggest consumers of pop culture. Though they have a big interest in fashion and the going ons of celebrities and their shoes, they can also easily become invested and interested in social issues that evoke emotion in them which makes them what to do something to help or to make a change. They will sympathise with the people in these stories and do further research into these matters. This can be seen through already successful social media platforms such as TikTok which many news platforms and reporters have accounts on that educate this age group and make them want to get involved. Another example of this would be snapchat where they put news stories that educate the audience next to celebrity news and what's going on in their lives. This is a good strategy as it hooks them i by putting their role models and celebrities they like next to stories that can educate and engage them. These apps use emotive language that catches the readers eye and causes them to read the story and makes them want to read more.

Demographic

Social media:

90% of people in this age group engage with social media an this is the most common age that you will encounter on majority of social media platforms. This is often how trends for this age are created and formed.

youtube - 16-25 year olds spend an average of 73 minutes on youtube per day

Tiktok - 41% of tiktokers users are 16-25 year olds and spend an average of 52

snapchat - 50% of snapchat users are under the age of 25
